About SETI@home ( http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/ ) |
SETI@home (or office) is a scientific experiment that uses Internet-connected computers in the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI). You can participate by running a free program that downloads and analyzes radio telescope data. The chances that your PC will be the lucky one finding evidence of EI are much lower than those of establishing democracy in Iraq in a single presidential term (written during the Presidency of George W. Bush) or solving the Israel-Palestine conflict. Yet there is no harm in keeping trying!

About PrivateMilitary team at SETI@home ( http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/team_display.php?teamid=130270 ) |
The private military and security world is internet intensive. Why not donate your idle computer and internet time to SETI? After downloading and installing this harmless software, you will have a cool screensaver, contribute to SETI, get publicly acknowledged credits for your participation in the project, and maybe, just maybe, finish making a breakthrough discovery.

What to do next? |
1. Download BOINC: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/download.php (5 mins)
|
2. While installing BOINC, you will be prompted to select a project. Select SETI@home and follow the rest of the instructions. |
3. Upon finishing the installation, establish your desirable activity settings (5 mins).
|
4. Join the PrivateMilitary team via the SETI@home communities tab or the BOINC website team option. This last step is indeed geeky as you will find out. However, hopefully by now SETI is running and you will eventually discover how to find us and join our PrivateMilitary team.
